Doświadczenie muzyczne i kultura środkowoeuropejska: Alexander Gadjiev zawdzięcza to z jednej strony swojej rodzinie, w której oboje rodzice są nauczycielami gry na pianinie i muzykami, a z drugiej strony swojemu rodzinnemu miastu, położonemu na granicy włosko-słoweńskiej Gorizia, naturalnemu skrzyżowaniu ludzi, kultur i języków. Oba czynniki mają decydujący wpływ na jego naturalną zdolność do przyswajania i przetwarzania różnych stylów i języków muzycznych oraz przekształcania ich według własnego gustu. Alexander mówi w 5 językach: włoskim, słoweńskim, angielskim, niemieckim i rosyjskim.

Jest ambasadorem kulturalnym swojego rodzinnego miasta "Nova Gorica/Gorizia, Europejska Stolica Kultury 2025", w ramach czego przygotowuje wyjątkowy koncert na moście Solkan nad rzeką Socza. W programie znajdą się m.in. Fantazja Chóralna Beethovena oraz improwizacje na fortepianie w otoczeniu barokowej Bazyliki Monte Santo.

W 2021 roku zdobył pierwszą nagrodę na Międzynarodowym Konkursie Pianistycznym w Sydney, a także drugą nagrodę na Międzynarodowym Konkursie Chopinowskim oraz specjalną nagrodę "Nagroda Krystiana Zimermana za Wykonanie Sonaty Chopina".

Od 2019 do 2021 roku Gadjiev był "Nowym Artystą Generacji BBC", co daje mu możliwość występów na renomowanych brytyjskich festiwalach i w salach koncertowych, takich jak Wigmore Hall w Londynie, i współpracy z różnymi orkiestrami. Wszystkie jego koncerty są nagrywane i transmitowane przez BBC. W 2022 roku został także laureatem Nagrody Terence'a Judda, co poprowadziło do dalszej współpracy z Orkiestrą Hallé do 2023 roku.

W wieku 20 lat zdobył 1. nagrodę na Międzynarodowym Konkursie Pianistycznym w Hamamatsu, gdzie otrzymał także "Nagrodę Publiczności", a w wieku 22 lat – 1. nagrodę na "World Piano Masters" w Monte Carlo.

Nauczany przez ojca, Alexander gra z orkiestrą po raz pierwszy w wieku dziewięciu lat, a swój pierwszy solowy koncert daje w wieku dziesięciu lat. W 2013 roku skończył edukację szkolną z najwyższymi ocenami. Pozwoliło mu to wziąć udział w Premio Venezia – konkursie przeznaczonym dla najlepszych młodych talentów we Włoszech – i wygrać 30. edycję tej nagrody. Następnie studiował w Mozarteum w Salzburgu u Pavla Gililova oraz w Hochschule Hanns Eisler w Berlinie u Eldara Nebolsina, kończąc studia wiosną 2022 roku.

Alexander Gadjiev regularnie przyjmuje zaproszenia z Europy, Azji i USA, występując m.in. na Festiwalu w Verbier, Festiwalu MiTo w Turynie, Festiwalu "Chopin" w Dusznikach, Festiwalu Pianistycznym Rafaela Orozco w Kordobie, Festiwalu w Ljubljanie, Festiwalu w Bolonii, Settimane Musicali w Teatro Olimpico w Vicenzy, Festival Animato de Paris, Festiwalu Salzburskim, Festiwalu Międzynarodowym de Piano de La Roque d'Anthéron, Teatro La Fenice, Kioi Hall i Bunka Kaikan w Tokio, Kitara Concert Hall w Sapporo, Hyogo Performing Arts Center w Osace, Salle Cortot w Paryżu, Moskiewskim Konserwatorium, Festiwalu Aldeburgh oraz salach koncertowych w Salt Lake City, Stambule, Barcelonie, Rzymie i Mediolanie.

Jako solista, Alexander Gadjiev teraz występuje z wieloma orkiestrami, takimi jak Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Orchestra Sinfonica del Teatro della Fenice, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, Kyoto Symphony Orchestra, Prague Symphony Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.

W kwietniu 2022 roku zrobił triumfalny debiut z "Orchestra Nazionale della Rai" pod batutą Fabio Luisiego, co poprowadziło do natychmiastowego ponownego zaproszenia. W październiku/listopadzie 2022 roku odbył trasę koncertową po Australii i Azji Południowo-Wschodniej trwającą ponad 50 dni. W lipcu 2024 roku odbył trasę koncertową po Japonii, występując m.in. w Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall, Act City Hamamatsu oraz The Symphony Hall w Osace. W styczniu 2025 roku wystąpił także z Orkiestrą Symfoniczną Indii pod batutą Zubina Mehty, prezentując utwory Beethovena, Chopina i Dvořáka.​

Dokonał licznych nagrań dla radia i telewizji zarówno w studiu, jak i podczas swoich koncertów. W 2018 roku ukazał się jego debiutancki album "Literary Fantasies" z utworami Liszta i Schumanna wydany przez Acousense, a także nagranie na żywo z Międzynarodowego Konkursu Pianistycznego w Sydney wydane przez DECCA w 2021 roku.

 

Musical experience and Central European culture:  Alexander Gadjiev owes his musical abilities to both his family, where both of his parents are piano teachers and musicians, and his hometown of Gorizia, located on the border between Italy and Slovenia, a natural crossroads of people, cultures, and languages. Both factors have had a decisive influence on his natural ability to assimilate and process different musical styles and languages, transforming them according to his own taste. Alexander speaks 5 languages: Italian, Slovenian, English, German, and Russian.

He is the cultural ambassador of his hometown, "Nova Gorica/Gorizia, European Capital of Culture 2025," for which he is preparing a special concert on the Solkan Bridge over the Soča River. The program will include Beethoven's Choral Fantasy and piano improvisations in the setting of the baroque Monte Santo Basilica.

In 2021, he won the first prize at the Sydney International Piano Competition and the second prize at the International Chopin Competition, as well as the special award "Krystian Zimerman Prize for the Performance of Chopin’s Sonata."

From 2019 to 2021, Gadjiev was a "BBC New Generation Artist," which gave him the opportunity to perform at prestigious British festivals and concert halls, such as Wigmore Hall in London, and collaborate with various orchestras. All of his concerts are recorded and broadcast by the BBC. In 2022, he also won the Terence Judd Award, which led to further collaboration with the Hallé Orchestra until 2023.

At the age of 20, he won the first prize at the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition, where he also received the "Audience Prize." At the age of 22, he won the first prize at the "World Piano Masters" in Monte Carlo.

Taught by his father, Alexander played with an orchestra for the first time at the age of nine and gave his first solo concert at the age of ten. In 2013, he completed his school education with top grades, which allowed him to participate in the Premio Venezia, a competition for the best young talents in Italy, and win the 30th edition of this award. He then studied at the Mozarteum in Salzburg under Pavel Gililov and at the Hochschule Hanns Eisler in Berlin under Eldar Nebolsin, completing his studies in the spring of 2022.

Alexander Gadjiev regularly accepts invitations from Europe, Asia, and the USA, performing at festivals such as the Verbier Festival, MiTo Festival in Turin, "Chopin" Festival in Duszniki, Rafael Orozco Piano Festival in Córdoba, Ljubljana Festival, Bologna Festival, Settimane Musicali at Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, Festival Animato de Paris, Salzburg Festival, Festival International de Piano de La Roque d'Anthéron, Teatro La Fenice, Kioi Hall and Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo, Kitara Concert Hall in Sapporo, Hyogo Performing Arts Center in Osaka, Salle Cortot in Paris, Moscow Conservatory, Aldeburgh Festival, and concert halls in Salt Lake City, Istanbul, Barcelona, Rome, and Milan.

As a soloist, Alexander Gadjiev now performs with many orchestras, such as the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Orchestra Sinfonica del Teatro della Fenice, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, Kyoto Symphony Orchestra, Prague Symphony Orchestra, and Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.

In April 2022, he made a triumphant debut with the "Orchestra Nazionale della Rai" under the baton of Fabio Luisi, which led to an immediate re-invitation. In October/November 2022, he toured Australia and Southeast Asia for over 50 days. In July 2024, he went on a tour of Japan, performing at Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall, Act City Hamamatsu, and The Symphony Hall in Osaka. In January 2025, he also performed with the Symphony Orchestra of India under the baton of Zubin Mehta, presenting works by Beethoven, Chopin, and Dvořák.

He has made numerous recordings for radio and television, both in the studio and during his concerts. In 2018, his debut album "Literary Fantasies" featuring works by Liszt and Schumann was released by Acousense, and a live recording from the Sydney International Piano Competition was released by DECCA in 2021.
