prof. Elena Margolina-Hait - Pianist, born in Lviv (Ukraine). She obtained her musical education at the N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov School of Music in St. Petersburg, graduating as a concert pianist. In 1996, she completed her concert exam at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold with distinction.
Elena Margolina has won numerous awards in prestigious piano and chamber music competitions, including 1st prize at the 5th International Schubert Piano Competition in 1995 in Dortmund.
Apart from her concert career, the artist has taught at the State University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart, at the University of Music and Theatre in Hanover, and has participated in international master classes (in Germany, Italy, South Korea, Canada, Albania, Russia, Ukraine, Israel, the United Kingdom, China).
In 2014, the pianist accepted an offer to become a professor of piano at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold. Today, many of Elena Margolina's students perform on international stages. They successfully showcase their artistic skills and win prizes in piano competitions. The pianist is also regularly invited as a jury member for various competitions.
Her numerous concerts have taken Elena Margolina across Europe and beyond. She has performed as a soloist with leading orchestras such as the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne, Scottish National Orchestra, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, Berlin Symphony Orchestra, State Academic Orchestra in St. Petersburg, Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra, Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie, and Hamburger Symphoniker, under the baton of renowned conductors.
Elena Margolina has made numerous television and radio recordings and has recorded several CDs. Her album "F. Schubert. Sonata D 959. Moments musicaux D 780" won the SUPERSONIC award from the PIZZICATO magazine from Luxembourg in 2008.
