Romana Agnel- polska tancerka, choreograf, historyk sztuki, Dyrektor Naczelny i Artystyczny Baletu Dworskiego „Cracovia Danza” – Miejskiej Instytucji w Krakowie.

Absolwentka Społecznej Szkoły Baletowej (klasa prof. Marty Mirockiej) w Krakowie. Swoje umiejętności w zakresie tańca charakterystycznego oraz tańców historycznych zdobyła we Francji (Le Ballet Légendaire d'Ile de France, Le Bal Paré, VII Konserwatorium w Paryżu, Thěâtre Baroque de France). Jest również tancerką klasycznego tańca indyjskiego Bharata Natyam, którego uczyła się u Smt. M. K. Saroja w Madrasie. Ukończyła historię sztuki na Paryskim Uniwersytecie Sorbony.

Jako choreograf i tancerka współpracuje z licznymi teatrami w Polsce, Warszawską Operą Kameralną, Zamkami Królewskimi w Krakowie, w Warszawie i Niepołomicach oraz wieloma innymi instytucjami w kraju i zagranicą. Prowadzi zajęcia z tańców historycznych na Akademii Muzycznej w Krakowie, w Łodzi i Białymstoku oraz liczne kursy w swoich specjalizacjach. Ostatnio w czerwcu 2024 roku zrealizowano premierę widowiska „Muzyka na wodzie” w reżyserii Romany Agnel, które odbyło się na scenie Teatru Variete w Krakowie. Spektakl ten był oparty na utworach Georga Friedricha Haendla oraz Georga Philippa Telemanna.

Tancerka miała okazję wielokrotnie współpracować z wybitnymi osobowościami świata baletu i muzyki. Przygotowała choreografie do wielu oper barokowych, klasycznych i staropolskich prezentowanych na scenach w Polsce i za granicą. Uczestniczyła m.in. w przygotowaniu przedstawień operowo-baletowych pod dyrekcją Jeana-Clauda Malgoire'a. Prezentowała także tańce historyczne z towarzyszeniem m.in. wybitnych wirtuozów: Urszuli Bartkiewicz, Elżbiety Stefańskiej, Kennetha Weissa (klawesyn) i Jaap'a Ter Lindena (wiolonczela barokowa).

Dodatkowo, w marcu 2025 roku Romana Agnel poprowadziła wydarzenie „Janina Strzembosz – taneczna krakowianka” w Klubie Aktora na Rynku Głównym w Krakowie

Jest laureatką II Nagrody paryskiego konkursu La Scéne Française w technice tańca charakterystycznego oraz Nagrody im. Zofii Rayzacher na Festiwalu Muzyki Dawnej na Zamku Królewskim w Warszawie.

W 2009r. została wyróżniona przez Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego RP odznaczeniem "Zasłużony dla Kultury Polskiej" oraz odznaczona przez Małopolskiego Kuratora Oświaty - Medalem Komisji Edukacji Narodowej za szczególne zasługi dla oświaty i wychowania. W listopadzie 2010 r. odebrała odznaczenie „Honoris gratia” – zasłużeni dla Miasta Krakowa i jego mieszkańców.

Romana Agnel jest pomysłodawczynią i Dyrektorem Artystycznym Festiwalu Tańców Dworskich „Cracovia Danza”. Festiwal rokrocznie odbywa się latem w Krakowie. Najbliższa - XXVI-ta już edycja - rozpocznie się 19 lipca i potrwa do 27 lipca 2025 r., a jej tematem będzie „Renesans: dziedzictwo tańca dworskiego”. Tegoroczna edycja będzie różnorodna i kolorowa. Odbędą się spektakle, pokazy, warsztaty a także dwa bale: Krakowski Bal Królewski oraz finałowy Polonez łączy, w ramach którego Rynek Główny w Krakowie stanie się największą salą taneczną Europy.

Romana Agnel – Polish dancer, choreographer, art historian, and Artistic and Executive Director of the Court Ballet "Cracovia Danza" – a Municipal Institution in Kraków.

A graduate of the Social Ballet School (class of Prof. Marta Mirocka) in Kraków, she honed her skills in characteristic dance and historical dances in France (Le Ballet Légendaire d'Ile de France, Le Bal Paré, the VII Conservatory in Paris, Théâtre Baroque de France). She is also a dancer of the classical Indian dance Bharata Natyam, which she studied with Smt. M. K. Saroja in Madras. She graduated in Art History from the University of Paris-Sorbonne.

As a choreographer and dancer, she has collaborated with numerous theaters in Poland, the Warsaw Chamber Opera, the Royal Castles in Kraków, Warsaw, and Niepołomice, as well as many other institutions both domestically and internationally. She teaches historical dances at the Academy of Music in Kraków, Łódź, and Białystok, as well as conducts numerous courses in her fields of specialization. Recently, in June 2024, she staged the premiere of the show "Music on the Water" at the Teatr Variete in Kraków. The performance was based on works by Georg Friedrich Handel and Georg Philipp Telemann.

The dancer has had the opportunity to collaborate multiple times with outstanding personalities in the world of ballet and music. She has created choreographies for many baroque, classical, and old Polish operas presented on stages in Poland and abroad. Among her notable contributions are operatic and ballet performances prepared under the direction of Jean-Claude Malgoire. She also presented historical dances with renowned virtuosos, including Urszula Bartkiewicz, Elżbieta Stefańska, Kenneth Weiss (harpsichord), and Jaap Ter Linden (baroque cello).

Additionally, in March 2025, Romana Agnel led the event "Janina Strzembosz – the Dance Krakowianka" at the Actor’s Club in the Main Market Square in Kraków.

She is the laureate of the 2nd Prize at the Paris competition La Scène Française in the technique of characteristic dance, and the Zofia Rayzacher Award at the Early Music Festival at the Royal Castle in Warsaw.

In 2009, she was honored by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland with the title "Meritorious for Polish Culture" and awarded by the Małopolska Education Curator with the Medal of the National Education Commission for special services to education and upbringing. In November 2010, she received the “Honoris Gratia” award – for outstanding contributions to the City of Kraków and its residents.

Romana Agnel is the founder and Artistic Director of the Court Dance Festival "Cracovia Danza". The festival is held annually in the summer in Kraków. The upcoming 26th edition will start on July 19 and run until July 27, 2025, with the theme "Renaissance: the Heritage of Court Dance." This year's edition will be diverse and colorful, featuring performances, shows, workshops, and two balls: the Kraków Royal Ball and the final Polonaise, during which the Main Market Square in Kraków will become the largest dance hall in Europe.
